SMI (Software pentru Management Industrial) is a Qt-based embedded ARM Linux solution that controls an industrial medical catheter production machine.

SMI allows the user to configure the catheter production machine via a friendly touchscreen interface. It also provides a counter for the number of catheters produced so far to facilitate tracking of production batches.

Behind the scenes, SMI also directly controls the hardware (induction coils, pneumatic system, cooling system etc.) responsible for producing the catheters via GPIO.
